Artificial Intelligence: Friend or Foe?

Benefit to humanity…or it’s downfall?

Over the past decade, artificial intelligence has slowly crept it’s way into the world and increasingly more into our daily lives. Many see this as a positive as AI is able to drastically increase productivity and quality of life. Only got 3 hours of sleep and don’t want to drive to work? Self driving cars rely heavily on AI to navigate the streets and get you to your destination safely. Maybe you’re a coder and don’t want to spend 3 hours custom designing a header from scratch so you have ChatGPT whip up a header in 30 seconds. Or you’re like me and have abysmal artistic skills so you use AI to generate a cover for this blog post. Whatever the case may be it’s hard to deny the positives that artificial intelligence brings to modern life.

Unfortunately, it’s not so black and white. Just as there are two sides to every coin and a night to every day, there is the good and bad of AI. It would be nice to solely focus on the positives of artificial intelligence and all the good it has done but it would be neglectful to do so. Concerns over losing jobs, usage by hackers and scammers, cyberattacks from foreign countries, are all a few such examples.
